The E-waste Challenge

At Blendaco we’re firm believers in caring for the environment and cultivating environmentally friendly behaviors.

According to The Global E-Waste Monitor 2020, a record number of 53.6 million metric tons (Mt) of e-waste was generated worldwide in 2019. E-waste, or electronic waste, refers to all discarded electronics, ranging from TVs, computers and mobile phones to household appliances like freezers, washing machines, toasters and blenders.

E-waste products contain many harmful toxic materials, such as lead, mercury and cadmium, some of which are carcinogenic. If these electronics are not properly disposed of they can contaminate the soil and waterways, resulting in serious health problems for humans and animals.

The future looks even more dire, as the same report predicts that e-waste will reach 74 million metric tons (Mt) globally by 2030.

Plastic, Metal, Glass, Cardboard Recycling:

To recycle your Blendaco accessories such as the Blendaco Jar & Lid Set you can use the same website https://www.recyclingnearyou.com.au/ to locate the nearest drop-off location in your area. It’s important to know that your Blendaco Jar & Lid Set is made of tritan, a type of BPA-free plastic, and your Blendaco Metal Straws Set is made of stainless steel.
